Stock transfer

A Stock transfer allows you to transfer one or more stock Items from one warehouse to another warehouse. The Items are removed from the source warehouse at their current average cost and added to the destination warehouse at the same cost as they were removed from the source.

Special actions available for users with Administrator permissions:

Alter the User ID in the Entered by field.
When Enable two phase Stock transfers has been selected:
- Apply and Unapply stock transfers from the Special menu.
- Automatically apply stock transfer on update.
Access the Admin menu.
Change the User ID of the Entered by field of memos.
Edit memos entered by other users.

Database rules:

A Stock transfer cannot be given a date that is outside the range of the Extended financial year
A Stock transfer cannot be deleted if its date is outside the range of the Extended financial year or before the Journal lock date
You cannot transfer more Items for an item than currently exist in the source warehouse

Transfer #

Reference: Number, Read-only, WYSIWYS

This number uniquely identifies a Stock transfer. The Transfer # is automatically generated by the system after the first update and cannot be changed for the life of the stock transfer.

If a stock transfer is deleted, its Transfer # will never be used again for another stock transfer.

Date

Reference: Date, Mandatory, QuickList, WYSIWYS

This is the date for which the stock transfer is being performed. It can be any valid date that is within the current extended Financial year.

This date is used as the date for the General ledger journal entry relating to this stock transfer.

From warehouse

This is the warehouse from which the stock is being transferred. There must be sufficient stock for each specified item in this warehouse for the transfer to be successful.

To warehouse

This is the warehouse to which the Items are being transferred.

Entered by

Reference: Select from list, Mandatory, HotEdit, WYSIWYS

This is the User name (not user login ID) of the user who entered the stock transfer. This field is automatically filled in with the user name of the current user and can only be changed if the current user has administrator permissions.

Comments

Reference: Memo, Expandable, WYSIWYS

This is free text that can be used to enter any comments about the stock transfer.

Ln #

Reference: number, read-only

This is a number that uniquely identifies the specific line of the stock transfer. It is automatically assigned and cannot be changed.

Item code

Reference: text(30)

This is the item code of the item that is being transferred. This must represent a valid item code, but you can type the first few letters of the code and activate the QuickList (by clicking on the button or pressing the QuickList Hot Key.

Item description

Reference: text, read-only

This is the description of the item being transferred. This field cannot be changed.

Serial #

Quantity

Reference: quantity

This is the quantity of Items being transferred. This quantity cannot be greater than the current quantity in stock for this item in the From warehouse.

Unit

Reference: Select from list

This is the unit of measure of the item that is being assigned. The quantity specified is always in terms of this unit.

Unit qty

This is the average cost of the item (per item) in the specified From warehouse at the time the transfer was updated.

Total

This is the total value of all Items on the specified line that will be transferred to the to warehouse.
